Beni Suef University Hospitals begin an intensive program to train employees on civil defense mechanisms and firefighting

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the activities of the first week of the training program for employees of Beni Suef University hospitals on civil defense mechanisms and dealing with disasters and emergencies were launched. This came under the supervision of Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospitals, Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of the hospitals, and Dr. Kariman Galal, Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Department, and in the presence of Dr. Abdel Aziz Zein El-Abedin, Deputy Executive Director of the hospitals, and Mr. Sarhan Mohamed, Director General of Financial and Administrative Affairs, in addition to a number of employees and nursing staff from various specialties.

Dr. Tariq Ali explained that the program aims to train nursing and administrative staff in various departments on firefighting methods and the optimal use of available firefighting equipment, which contributes to controlling emergency situations and reducing risks. This is within the framework of the hospitals’ plan to raise the efficiency of employees and qualify them to deal quickly and safely with emergencies, especially facility fires and methods of controlling them according to sound scientific methods. The program includes intensive practical training with the participation of all employees in the administration, and in cooperation with the firefighting teams of the Civil Protection.

Dr. Hani Hamed also emphasized that the university pays great attention to implementing occupational safety and health standards within university hospitals, and raising the level of preparedness among employees to deal with crises and emergencies efficiently and quickly, in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Dr. Emad Al-Banna added that these exercises come within the framework of ensuring the safety of workers, patients and visitors, and enhancing the ability to respond immediately to emergencies, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the work system within university hospitals.
