Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, and in line with the societal role of educational institutions in promoting health awareness among school students, fifth-year students of the PharmD (Clinical Pharmacy) program, in cooperation with the “Students for Egypt Family,” organized an awareness campaign titled “Healthy Kids… Strong Kids,” targeting primary school students at Salah El-Din Future Stars School to enhance their understanding of healthy nutrition. The campaign was supervised by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Shahira Fawzy El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Iglal Abdel-Hamid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Affairs; Dr. Adel Ahmed, Vice Dean for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Raghda Roshdy, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department; Dr. Nourhan Badr, Teaching Assistant in the Clinical Pharmacy Department; Dr. Ahmed Farouk, Coordinator of Students for Egypt at the university; and Dr. Dina Amin, Coordinator of the family at the Faculty.

The University President explained that the campaign covered the concept of healthy versus unhealthy food and featured several interactive activities, including the “Who’s the Hero?” challenge and healthy food cards presented through role-playing characters. The campaign also used brochures and models specially prepared for the event. In addition, it included an art activity where students colored various healthy foods, along with drawings of the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum to strengthen their sense of national belonging. Competitions were held, and prizes were awarded to the winners. Faculty students also distributed the campaign brochures, which serve as a lasting guide for students about healthy nutrition.

Dr. Shahira Fawzy emphasized the importance of holding such awareness campaigns regularly, noting that they achieve a comprehensive set of strategic objectives. These include linking academic study with real-life application by training university students to put theoretical knowledge into practice, promoting health awareness among school students as part of the Faculty’s mission to disseminate knowledge, and supporting effective teaching and learning strategies by enabling university students to simplify medical information for different age groups. She added that these campaigns also strengthen the role of educational institutions in community engagement, develop students’ presentation and communication skills, and encourage teamwork. The day concluded with group photos capturing the success of the campaign and the positive engagement of participants.
