Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Arts, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Universities, organized a training program on utilizing information resources available through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB). The program was held under the supervision of Dr. Azza Gohary, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Mohamed Qayed, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Director of Digital Projects.

The program comes within the framework of the national strategy to strengthen the scientific research system in Egyptian universities, with the participation of more than 300 beneficiaries, including faculty members and researchers. The event was also attended by representatives from the Egyptian Knowledge Bank and the Digital Libraries Unit of the Supreme Council of Universities.

The University President explained that the program aims to empower researchers with modern research tools and to raise their awareness of the importance of verifying academic publishing sources. This, in turn, contributes to enhancing the quality of scientific output and improving the international ranking of Egyptian universities. He pointed out that the program’s themes included an introduction to the services provided by the Digital Libraries Unit and its role in supporting scientific research, as part of a series of programs designed to build a strong, enlightened research community capable of keeping pace with global developments in academic publishing and access to knowledge.

Dr. Azza Gohary added that the program reviewed the services of the Egyptian University Libraries Consortium and the mechanisms for accessing available resources. It also analyzed the new indicators in the promotion criteria for the fifteenth cycle and discussed methods for verifying scientific journals to avoid publishing in fake or unethical journals.

Dr. Mohamed Qayed noted that the Egyptian Knowledge Bank is one of the most significant national initiatives supporting education and scientific research. It provides a comprehensive digital platform offering free access to thousands of scientific resources, books, and international academic journals, enabling researchers and faculty members to enhance their research capabilities.
